But nowadays, almost all the smartphones are facing a common problem and that is the problem of overheating, whether the phone is big, small, cheap or expensive. A person using a smartphone must have felt his phone getting hot at one time or the other. So why does this happen?

Our smartphone is a machine and all small and big machines definitely get hot when they are used. For example, if you are watching TV for an hour, then if you touch the back part of that TV, it also remains hot or if you are using a laptop, then the part below it also remains hot.

Similarly, when all the machines in the house are used, they get heated and this is a common thing. In the same way, our phones also get hot but sometimes they get so hot due to which we have to face many problems.

But why does this happen? Today I am going to tell you the reason behind this question through this article. So let us know why there is problem of overheating in Smartphones and how to solve this problem?

Why is there problem of overheating in smartphones?

First of all we will try to know why the problem of overheating occurs in our smartphone. Phones of different companies heat up in different amounts, some phones get hotter and some less, it depends on how we use the phone.

There are different reasons behind all these, let us know why and when this happens.

1. Processor

Processor is the most important part of your phone which does all the work. As all the apps in your phone are able to run only because of the processor and all the work in the phone is done through these apps only, hence the processor plays an important role in all types of smartphones.

This is a component of the phone that runs all the time when your phone is on, whether you are using the phone or not.

Processor is made of semi conductor in which small electrons are present, everyone must have read about semi conductor and electrons in school, hence I will not tell about them in details.

So when the processor works, these small electrons keep running from here to there and due to this they sometimes collide with each other and whenever they collide, heat is generated in the processor.

So the faster your processor works, the faster these electrons run and collide and the more heat they produce. When they produce heat, the processor also gets heated due to which our smartphone also gets heated.

2. Overload

Nowadays if you see, smartphones have started coming in thinner size than before which is lighter to hold and most of the people also like slim phones.

Due to being slim, all the parts of the phone fit in the same space, so whenever the processor gets hot, it does not get the space so that it can come out and disappear. That heat remains inside, that is why it starts being felt on our phone.

Well, if we see that a processor does not get so hot in normal use, then the second reason for overheating in the phone is overload. If we overload something, it overheats.

When your processor is working normally like you are talking on your phone or sending messages or watching videos, then in all these things your processor will sometimes not get too hot so that you can feel it.

But if you are doing many things simultaneously on your phone like playing games and also downloading something in the background, then in this case your processor works more and does it very fast. So the faster it works, the hotter it will get.

3. Battery

The third reason for the problem of overheating in the phone is the battery, in many smartphones the battery gets heated very quickly. The reason for this is also the design of slim smartphones. Due to less space, all the parts like processor, RAM and battery are placed close together, hence whenever the processor starts heating up, it affects the battery also.

Whenever the battery is in use or being charged, it automatically generates heat and spreads that heat completely inside the phone. Due to being a slim phone, the size of the battery is also getting smaller and the smaller the battery, the faster it gets heated, if big batteries were being used in smart phones then it would never get heated quickly.

Due to the battery heating up quickly, its charge also starts draining quickly. And if the battery overheats, there is a danger of it exploding.

4. Ambient Temperature

Ambient temperature is also the biggest factor behind overheating of the phone. In India we see that the normal temperatures reach up to 40-45 degrees.

So in such a situation, when you are using your phone while sitting at your home (without AC), then the temperature of your home will also be around 35-36 and if the phone is being used in that temperature, then it will be at that temperature. Due to this also the phones get heated quickly.

How hot is it normal for smartphones to get hot?

Nowadays, due to the technology with which smartphones are being made, almost all phones are facing heating problems, whether the phone is Android, Windows or iPhone.

If the temperature of any phone sometimes goes up to 45 degrees then it is a normal thing, you do not need to worry too much about it. But if your phone always remains in temperature more than 35 degrees even while using it normally then it is a problem of overheating.

How to solve the problem of Smartphones Overheating?

  1. First of all, check which app or game is causing your phone to overheat or which app is running in the background and using your processor. When you come to know about it, uninstall that app immediately or do not use that app every day, just occasionally. If the processor gets too hot then your phone will start working slowly.
  2. The second problem is that of overloading, so whenever you are doing heavy tasks on your phone like playing games or watching videos, then do not use other apps along with it at all. The less apps you use simultaneously, the faster your phone will work and it will not get hot at all.
  3. The third problem is that of the battery. If you do not use your phone while you are charging it, then the heating problem will not be much. When you feel that the phone’s battery has become too hot, then remove the external back-covers placed behind your phone for a while and allow some air to flow into the battery, this will cool it down quickly and the battery will get damaged quickly. The chances of this happening will reduce.
  4. Do not use your phone when the temperature in your house is high. Turn on the fan, cooler, or AC and when the temperature becomes normal then you can use your phone, you will not have any problem of heating.
  5. Sometimes phones overheat due to hardware or software. You should check the software of your phone whether it is on the latest version or not because sometimes it happens that the hardware of your phone does not know how to use the software properly or is using it too much, then because of that. The phone also gets overheated.
